At the Requirements Engineering (RE) Academy, we offer a learning experience designed to practice our standardized approach to requirements engineering, receive personalized support, and ultimately become independent in your requirements-related tasks.
The RE Academy provides a valuable learning opportunity for professionals in the requirements engineering and web development fields.
Interested? Here’s what we’re looking for.
- Strong verbal and written English skills (C1 and higher)
- Hands-on experience with web-based content management systems (CMS)
- Technical understanding or familiarity with web development and web application integrations
- Ability to translate business requirements to technical solutions
- Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS / JavaScript and/or web-relevant programming languages
- Experience in the creation of wireframes/mock-ups for IT applications
- Experience in the analysis of IT processes and the structured creation of requirements for IT systems
- Knowledge of software modeling methods (UML, flow charts, use cases...), methodologies, and process models in software development
- Readiness to travel (up to 50%, depending on the project)
- Eligibility to work within the EU and/or Switzerland

The Academy program makes sure you…
- Learn our methodologies, ways of working, and standards
- Learn the tools we use for requirements engineering
- Learn the Adobe products we work with
- Learn relevant business and technical concepts and skills in the web development area
- Practice consulting the customer and creating functional requirements based on this consultation
- Practice analyzing and hardening functional requirements, as well as identifying specific and testable criteria
- Practice supporting task estimation
- Practice creating specifications, including wireframes and gathered design information
- Practice looking for gaps in the deliverables from the client and their design agency
- Practice ensuring documentation is trackable
- Practice preparing and participating in the Solution Review Boards
- Practice supporting the development and QA teams when questions are raised
- Practice ensuring overall project quality and delivery
Here’s what you can expect from the four-week Cognizant Netcentric Academy program:
First week: onboarding, health & safety, Getting Things Done (GTD) Training
Second and third week: self-study, live Q&As, and live sessions
From the fourth week on: mentorship
When you’ve completed the Academy, you’re all set to start on your first project with us.
