All our developers:
- A strong capacity to identify requirements and define technical solutions
- A proactive mindset, as well as the capacity to share ideas and bring them to life
- A team player full of enthusiasm and empathy
- A fluent level in English
- A passion for web development
- One to two years’ worth of working experience
Frontend developers should be familiar with:
- HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (preferably ES6)
- React, SASS, LESS or PostCSS
- How to build responsive webs
- Accessibility
- Web Performance
Backend developers should be familiar with:
- Programming
- Design patterns and software development processes
- Web-related technologies
- Development tools (such as version control software)
- Java, backend web development (Spring, Servlets, JSP, etc), unit and integration testing, Git and Maven, cloud development
The Academy program makes sure you:
- Acquire practical knowledge of the AEM Software Development ecosystem.
- Learn development best practices for efficient and effective coding.
- Deepen your understanding of core technologies:
- Backend: Enhance your Java programming skills.
- Frontend: Strengthen your knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Utilize issue and project-tracking tools for effective project management.
- Gain experience in functional testing and code reviewing to ensure software quality and functionality.
- Learn to work effectively in an agile development environment.
- Use Holacracy as a self-organization tool to empower you and your team in your everyday tasks.
- Apply the Cognizant Netcentric core values in your day-to-day tasks to work in a productive, multicultural environment.
Here’s what you can expect for the five-week Cognizant Netcentric Academy program:
First three weeks: Daily sessions for all developers; then you’ll be distributed into frontend and backend groups.
Final week: Both groups will be merged to work together to create a full solution using all the knowledge acquired so far.
When you’ve completed the Academy, you’re all set to start on your first project with us.
